How To Make A Protein Shake

Step One: Add you choice of liquid. I prefer water or unsweetened Almond Milk.

Use 8 to 16 oz's for desired thickness and size.

I suggest Optimum Nutrition because it is one of the few protein powders that is inspected and certified by Informed-Choice. Informed-Choice is a quality assurance program for sports nutrition products, suppliers to the sports nutrition industry, and supplement manufacturing facilities. It is a monitoring program that certifies that a supplement product and/or raw material that bears the Informed-Choice logo has been ‘skip-lot’ tested (tested at least on a monthly basis) for banned substances by LGC’s world-class sports anti-doping lab. So you know you're getting a quality product and it tastes great too!!

Step Three: Add handful of leafy greens. I suggest using Kale or Spinach. Either will blend well in any home blender. These leafy greens are a good source of Vitamin K. Your body uses vitamin K to activate a range of proteins, including proteins needed for bone development. They also contain fiber, antioxidants and calcium.

Step Four: Add your choice of Fruit. Bananas or berries are great in shakes. If you like your shake really cold then use frozen fruit. I like to peel bananas, cut them into slices and freeze them in a container. The slices of banana are a great way to cool the shake without using ice. A good rule is to only use half of the amount of fruit to leafy greens added. This way the shake doesn't have too much sugar.
